My name Paul Hollington and I’ve been selected as your Labour party candidate for Bagley ward, for the local elections next May.
I’ve lived and worked in Shrewsbury for the last 12 years, having lived in Shropshire all of my life. I’m married with two grown-up children and two grandchildren, and a Welsh Border Collie called Paddy
I’m an ex-civil servant of thirty-two years who now works locally for a major national retailer, having worked for them for the past eleven years.
I am acutely aware of the challenges that face us all, including the very recent ones. I’m a passionate supporter of the Labour movement and has been an active member of our local party since 2016.
I’m a conscientious candidate with years of experience working within government, business, and charity environments.
I volunteered to help and support members of our local community during Covid-19, shopping, collecting prescriptions for members of our community who were shielding.
I’ve campaigned against Tory cuts and will fight to get a better deal for the residents of Shrewsbury and Shropshire.
I feel that we’ve all been let down in the last four years, by a self-interested council, more concerned with vanity projects than their local communities.
