Our current bins are not fit for purpose. We need a more modern, up-to-date collection system.

You don’t have to walk far to see litter strewn on the ground, whether it be plastic bottles, crisp packets or cigarette butts carelessly discarded on our streets.

Our public places are woefully short of modern rubbish bins. A considerable number of towns have now moved over to dual use bins for regular rubbish
or plastic, with Chester introducing a solar power compactor bin that can press down waste to hold more. Shropshire Council is lagging with how we treat
our waste, with old open air bins dotting the streets, losing rubbish with a gust of wind. We need more innovative ways of encouraging people to properly
dispose of their rubbish. Replacing our waste disposal places is just the first step.
