Ian Matthews
Ian Matthews

Ian has been a resident of Shrewsbury for the last 29 years, having grown up on the outskirts of Manchester, and has lived in the Copthorne area on Mytton Oak Road for the last three years. He is self-employed, working as a consultant in the Book Publishing trade, and spends his time outside of that working with a number of local charities, including the Shropshire Cycle Hub renovating bicycles for use by key workers during the current pandemic. IN March he was part of the team that created Copthorne Mutual Aid, a Facebook group that has helped local residents in Copthorne Ward who have struggled with basic needs and medicines during the pandemic. He is a keen walker and cyclist, an enthusiastic but somewhat average musician (playing in various folk session around Shropshire), and a terrible cricket player but an avid fan.
