Julia Buckley is the only candidate who can beat Daniel Kaczynski in Shrewsbury and Atcham
At a packed members’ meeting on Saturday 9th November, Shrewsbury & Atcham Constituency Labour Party proudly announced their candidate for the 2019 General Election will be Dr Julia Buckley.
Julia lives in Shropshire and understands how our services have been slashed by the Tories. She is well-known to many of our members through her campaigning on health services in the county, most notably lobbying hard to retain rural Midwife-Led Units.
Her working life has included 20 years experience as a funding specialist in local, regional and EU level government, securing funding grants for deprived communities, environmental sustainability and supporting local business growth. In her workplace she is also an active UNISON steward and has experience as a Labour party Councillor.
In her own words: “Our public services and rural NHS hospitals cannot survive another winter under this Conservative Government. That is why we are offering a credible, compassionate alternative – vote Labour to allow the reinvestment back into our community here in Shrewsbury & Atcham”.
