The Conservative Earl of Shrewsbury has given his support to Shrewsbury Labour Party’s criticisms of the Agriculture Bill.

In a letter to Shrewsbury and Atcham Constituency Labour Party chair Wynn Davies, Lord Shrewsbury says he will be supporting our views in the House of Lords and tabling suitable amendments.

Shrewsbury Labour wrote an open letter this week to  Lord Shrewsbury, MP Daniel Kawczynski, and the government.

The Government-led defeat of the Parish amendment to the bill in the Commons was “a disgrace” he adds.

Dear Mr Davies,

Thank you so much for writing to me regarding the upcoming 2nd Reading of the Agriculture Bill.
I am in total agreement with everything you say, and assure you and the Shrewsbury & Atcham Labour Party that I shall be supporting those views throughout the Bill. I intend to table suitable amendments. I feel strongly that the defeat of the Parish Amendment in the Commons was disgraceful.
With kind regards.
Yours sincerely,
Charles Shrewsbury
The Earl of Shrewsbury & Talbot DL
