I have been Councillor for Shropshire Council and Shrewsbury Town Council for Belle Vue ward since April 2018. I have lived in Belle Vue for over 20 years and love the area, its people and its thriving businesses. I am keen to work hard for Shrewsbury and Shropshire residents, challenging and providing alternatives to the Conservative-led council and government which has cut public services and done damage to our economy. During my time as councillor I have worked with providers to get superfast broadband into areas of the ward without provision, have set up the first school street in Shropshire with Coleham Primary School and the council, and have proposed a cross party motion on improving cycling infrastructure which was unanimously accepted. I have also been involved in supporting the local community during the floods, and have supported the setting up of the Belle Vue and Coleham Community Action Group which has coordinated volunteers for residents throughout the pandemic, and for whom I volunteer. I have also supported the setting up of the Belle Vue Tree Planting Group which has planted trees across the ward and beyond!
I am a social worker and specialise in providing training to professionals who work with people with alcohol and drug problems. I love to cycle, and I love to sew.
