Hello I’m Wynn Davies and I am delighted to be the Labour candidate for the Loton Division in the Shropshire Council elections on May 6th.
I was born in Oswestry and grew up in Shrewsbury. After teaching in Sierra Leone as a VSO volunteer, I taught Maths in secondary schools in Telford, Luton, Wolverhampton and Walsall. I also worked at Wolverhampton University training Maths teachers.
On retirement my wife and I moved to London where I became a Councillor on Greenwich Council. For family reasons we moved back to this area 6 years ago and we now live in Hanwood where I am a Parish Councillor.
In Greenwich I had a reputation as a committed Councillor. When I left the local 853 blog said the by-election was caused by “Wynn Davies, by all accounts a hard-working councillor” moving out of the area for family reasons. If elected I will work hard for you and gain the same reputation here.
This election is being held under the most unique circumstances and will give electors the chance to send a clear message to the incompetent Tory Government, our local MP and the Tory representatives on Shropshire Council.
At the time of writing, February 2021, the UK has the THIRD HIGHEST DEATH RATE from Covid IN THE WORLD; more than double that of Germany or Ireland.
Quite simply because of the Government’s failings and lack of decisive action MANY MORE PEOPLE HAVE DIED than should have done.
Currently the vaccination program is running well – and EVERYONE welcomes that. It is being run by OUR great public institution the NHS.
Compare that with the privatised Track and Trace system that cost a fortune and seems to have disappeared without trace.
Don’t let the brilliance of our scientists and the care, commitment and dedication of OUR NHS staff blind you to the bungling incompetence of the Government and the thousands of unnecessary deaths.
When you vote remember how you felt when you heard of Dominic Cummings’s trip to Durham and to Barnard Castle to test his eyes.”
