Shrewsbury and Atcham Labour Party have found that many fewer people are registered than previously, and there are always people in any election find out too late that they have no vote. Every person has to register individually.  The easiest way is to go to Shropshire Council website, or request a form by email (elections@shropshire.gov.uk) or by phoning 0345 678 9015.  You will need  your National Insurance Number, or another form of identity if you have not got one.

If you would like someone from the Labour Party to check whether you are on the electoral register or help you with registering to vote, please contact us here.

Your vote is important

Although the Conservative government has taken a political decision to sacrifice everything for an austerity policy, it has made Councils take the blame by underfunding those essential services, which arguably affect women most. As a result, to pay for social care, libraries, buses, youth clubs and many other areas have been devastated. It does not have to be like this.

The fight for all men and women to be able to vote is a matter of history. This Conservative government has made it slightly more complicated to register.  It is an essential democratic right. We hope that the  new Councillors have a strong democratic mandate, shown by a large turnout of voters.
